com. I have got a quick question which I’d like to ask if you don’t mind. What do you do to clear your head and find your center of focus before you sit down to write? I have had problems with clearing my mind in order to get my ideas out. I really do love writing, but it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are lost simply just trying to determine how to get started. Any ideas or hints?

Now I moved to Windows and bought upgrade license for Papers2 and what a disappointment. As you said, its super buggy (and they take pride in total rewriting of the program). The support is pathetic and almost all the question you ask them are made PRIVATE so that you have no clue what other users are asking or complaining. I have 4 questions open within last 2 months and no answers. I agree the questions are critical (i.e. not applauding their program but very civil).

I use laptop with i3 processor with 4GB RAM on 64-bit Windows 7 and the program uses upto 1GB of RAM at a times. I can work with photoshop much faster than Papers2. Its very very slow. I have about 1000 articles in my library and its frustrating. I never had this problem with with Papers1 on Mac.

Now that they are acquired by a big scientific articles publisher, I don’t think they give a hoot to your complaints. Keep an eye on open source program Qiqqa. Its not as polished but I hope they too get their act together and make it a pretty good program.

Simplicity is beautiful, as the essence of the science.

the best of Mendeley is that’s cross-platform. I have my Mac for personal use, but in my work I use PC. So… after some time I had built TWO independent libraries of pdf files, one in my mac and one in my pc. Mendeley has made a cloud (I think it’s a cloud technology) sync available so I finally integrated two huge pdf libraries into one universal, available online, available in my PC, my Mac and my phone all in Mendeley, and for free. I was also a Papers fan, but as of 2012, I think Mendeley is totally better.
